A new equity fund to assist Internet and Games Start-Ups to help them launch new products and services in the international marketplace has been launched in Dublin, Ireland. Starting on a pilot basis, ten companies in the Internet and Games sector will be selected for this fund. The key to being one of the ten is being able to demonstrate an ability to develop your business internationally. The initial fund is €500,000. Successful applicants will receive an equity investment of €50,000 for a 10% ordinary equity stake.
The closing date to get your application in is Thursday, December 16th. Top ten selected companies will be notofied before the end of January 2011. The fund aims to enable Internet & Games start-up companies to:
Build a prototype, gain market traction and retain a significant number of users
Identify the business revenue model.
Develop a market entry strategy / plan for exploiting international opportunities.
Identify suitable channels to international markets.
Evaluate and assess overseas market opportunities and reach firm conclusions regarding the viability of the proposed business.
Assess the suitability of their service / product offer for new markets.
