# Mig33 originated in a library coffee shop, as a way for teens to send text messages as much as they wanted, without the high costs of SMS
# Mig33 was released in December of 2005 as the first global, mobile community
# More than 40 million users in over 200 countries have joined the mobile community
# The app is estimated to be the most downloaded application for mobile phone worldwide.
# mig33 has many additional features beyond just chat, and is a vibrant, mobile community that enables users to connect with friends, meet new people, exchange emoticon expressions, send virtual gifts, play games and have fun.
# The service is available to any mobile phone user and is optimized to work with more than 2,000 handsets that include most Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Blackberry handsets.
# mig33 claims its sales doubled in India, Pakistan and Iraq during the 2010 calendar year. India is among the top-five growing markets for the company.
# The company raised $13.5 million in funding from Accel Partners, Redpoint Ventures and DCM.
# “Our focus is on users of tier-2 and tier-3 cities, because entertainment options for people in these cities is less compared to that available in metros,” said Mohit Gundecha, the Director of Business Development and Head of India Operations for mig33.

What makes mig33 India's largest mobile social network? Do you know how many users in India they have – either active or registered?
