Michael Arrington no longer works with TechCrunch or AOL. Its official. Mike made this pronouncement at the just ended TechCrunch Disrupt conference. He said he wanted to clear the air about all the “drama” around him, his investment fund, and his employment status at AOL. And AOL CEO has even confirmed that.
Here’s what he said:
It’s no longer a good situation for me to stay at TechCrunch. Effective in a couple of days, I won’t be an employee of TechCrunch or AOL. I will continue to run the Crunchfund and AOL will remain a partner in CrunchFund. I will continue to support this conference and TechCrunch over time.
Mike has announced on Twitter that he will start a personal blog in a couple of days.
A couple minutes later, he tweeted “network effects will beat IP every time,” The BIG question is can Michael Pull the writers at AOL’s TechCrunch to his new “personal” blog if he turns it into another “Techcrunch”
