1. Open communication
The key to making sure everyone is on the same page is communication. If you do not communicate in a clear and concise manner, no one will know when they are doing a good or bad job.
By conversing with people and informing them how to be better, they can take the advice and improve. Obviously, don’t scream and shout because most people prefer an arm around the shoulder rather a hairdryer treatment. Effective communication helps increase overall productivity.
2. Work-life Balance
No one wants to work all day every day. You will know yourself that you need time to unwind and take care of other aspects of your life. Well, the people that work for the company are no different. So, they need flexibility in their work and their lives outside of work.
By allowing them to start later and finish later, or to pop out during work hours to take care of home issues, they will work far harder. Why? They will work harder because they will understand that your approach is not universal. And, they will want to repay you for your kindness. Plus, they will be much happier because their life and their work merge.
3. Nice surroundings
Work is not a punishment, so don’t make it seem so. It might surprise you how many offices feel like prisons when you walk through the door. And, that is not going to encourage productivity.
No one wants to work in an environment that is stifling or that sucks all the happiness out of life, which is why you need to re-think your interior design. Everything from commercial wood flooring to the lighting and colour on the walls will make everyone happier. And, when they are happier, they do their best work!
4. Training and development based
Although they might not realise it at first, training and development are as much for the employee as for the employer. Yes, you get a better worker when all’s said and done, but they also get the chance to improve.
Not many businesses can say that they invest in their employees, yet you can if you are training and development focused. As soon as they realise, they will be eternally grateful for the opportunity and repay the favour.

5. Recognition
What do people want more than anything? They want recognition when they do a good job. If you praise them when they do something positive, you will build a relationship that is based on achieving. Make recognition specific to employee accomplishments.
Appreciation is a fundamental human need. When you appreciate your employees through recognition, it confirms that their work is valued. When people feel that what they do is respected and recognised, their satisfaction and productivity rises, and they will be motivated to maintain or improve their good work.
