Picturk has created a new platform that delivers high quality digital images to creative professionals has emerged as the winner of the NDRC Launch Pad ‘Lift Off’ competition. NDRC’s LaunchPad programme is a three-month accelerator programme targeted at enabling people to launch great ideas in the digital space. The three-month programme provides participating projects with financial support, mentoring and workspace. The international reach and market potential of the platform was cited as the primary reason for the win. Picturk gains access to €30,000 worth of investment and support.
Picturk.com is the community-driven platform where digital photographers meet consumers of digital imagery.
Camera clubs can use Picturk to run their digital and projected image photography competitions. Art Directors and Marketers can crowd source interesting and unique photographs.
€45,000 combined investment and support package for top two winners on NDRC’s LaunchPad programme included a cash contribution from Bank of Ireland, legal services from Mason Hayes and Curran; and accounting services from Grant Thornton.
Second place was awarded to BragBet, a social gambling platform that enables users to communicate about their bets, encouraging chat, banter and bragging about their wins. Bragbet gains access to €15,000 worth of investment and additional supports.
