SCVNGR-The Location-Based Game Takes On Foursquare At Times Square

Foursquare, The New York City-based startup has been visible many times on some of the huge billboards at Times Square. Facebook Places has has also been competiting for attention and it has a free ad in Times Square.

The new addition is SCVNGR. SCVNGR is a location based game. Playing is simple: Go places. Do challenges. Earn points and unlock rewards!. Individuals and enterprises build on SCVNGR by adding challenges and rewards to their favorite places.

SCVNGR has partnered with American Eagle to make a lasting impression in the New Year. A 25-ft display in Times Square will encourage people to play SCVNGR from now until January 1. For each person who completes the American Eagle challenge, which involves making resolutions and taking photos of American Eagle ads, both companies will donate $5 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Go Places.Play SCVNGR everywhere! At your favorite cafe, gym, theater, park, restaurant.

Do Challenges. Check-in. Try a challenge. Share where you are & what you’re up to with your friends.
