Spling.com officially launched to the public on Thursday, April 7. Eliminating trivial status updates, Spling.com gathers, sorts, and creates a compilation of media from across the internet in a social atmosphere.
“We are launching something exciting and different,” said CEO and Founder Billy McFarland. “Spling.com’s approach to sharing a wide range of popular media is simple and straightforward. After joining, users become broadcasters hosting their own virtual channel, using Spling to draw on the best of the internet. Their media is then gathered and sorted onto their personal page in a microblog format. We are new, we are different, and most importantly we capture internet users’ thirst for entertainment.”
Spling intends to be the first true social networking system refined for the sole purpose of entertainment and media.
