DoubleClick cofounder Kevin O’Connor’s new startup, FindTheBest, aims at helping you compare everything from 3D TV’s to Investment Advisors. FindTheBest is an objective, socially curated comparison engine that allows you to find a topic, compare your options and decide what’s best for you.
Ultimately, FindTheBest allows you to make faster and more informed decisions by allowing you to easily compare all the available options, view Expert Ratings on products and services and read and write reviews on millions of listings.
They launched late last year and now, with a $6 million series A investment from Kleiner Perkins that closed Tuesday, FindTheBest is in a good position to set itself apart from search engines like Google and Bing.
FindTheBest is organized into 10 broad categories including: Auto, Education, Electronics & Computers, Finance, Health, Home & Family, Reference, Software, Sports and Recreation and Travel & Lifestyle. Each category includes dozens of Comparisons from Adventure Travel Vacations to Job Websites.
Each Comparison consists of a variety of related listings—from Vail and Whistler ski resorts under the Ski Resorts Comparison to Barack Obama and Angelina Jolie under the Celebrities Comparison —and each listing can be sorted by numerous key filters.
