Twitter has grown from 250 people to more than 600 in the past 12 months. The company now have an opportunity to expand Twitter’s reach with a significant round of funding led by the venture firm DST Global, with the participation of several of our existing investors.

Twitter intends to use these resources to aggressively innovate, hire more great people and invest in international expansion.

Late last month Twitter  funding  rumors suggested that the company was in the process of raising $800 million in funding at an $8 billion valuation.

Twitter did not declare the size of the new round in a blog post on the company’s blog today.
