Amazon has launched its “daily deals” discounts to the Kindle ebookstore, offering one book a day at a discountted price. Today, Sara Gruen’s best seller Water for Elephants is $2.99, or 57% off its regular $6.99 pricing.

Amazon launched the new promotion on Wednesday, offering popular kids’ book The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo for $1.39, 75% off its regular price.

Amazon made the announcement in a blog and said ” We’re excited to announce that we’re unveiling one Kindle book at a specially-discounted price each day as a part of the new Kindle Daily Deal. Bookmark amazon.com/kindledailydeal and check back daily to see what’s next. Deals go live at approximately 12:00 A.M. Pacific time and run for 24 hours.  Don’t want to miss a deal?  The Kindle Daily Deal will be posted daily on Twitter, and frequently on Facebook and the Kindle Daily Post.”
