Tumblr(Blogging Platform) Records Over 10 Billion Posts Today

Tumblr, a microblogging and curation platform has reached its 10 billionth post today.Tumblr lets you share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. You can customize everything, from colors, to your theme’s HTML.

Tumblr’s total posts hit 10 billion earlier today, according to a publication on the company’s website.

Fashion and photography blogs are especially popular on the site because it pushes strong visuals. A reported 20 percent of Tumblr blogs are related to fashion.

Tumblr is backed by Union Square Ventures, Spark Capital and Sequoia Capital. Tumblr last raised $30 million back in December 2010, with funding coming from Sequoia Capital, Union Square Ventures and Spark Capital. The company has raised about $40.2 million total.

Tumblr is close to raising between $75 and $100 million, with an incredible $800 million valuation, says the Wall Street Journal.
