MEDKenya (Tuvitu for Health) is platform that provides a suite of health services (health widgets) such as symptom checkers, first-aid information, doctor & hospital directories as well as relevant alert services.
MEDKenya was at the 20th annual DEMO 20011 Conference yesterday, in Santa Clara, CA.

medAfrica from Kenyan startup Shimab is a phone-based medical reference and real-time public health tool. The service aims to make healthcare information affordable and accessible to Kenyans.Health is a universal need that forms part of Vision 2030 and the Millenium Development Goals.

The smart phone version of the app allows a sick individual to check his or her symptoms against an encyclopedia of ailments, such as fever, swelling or other maladies, and the tool will allow them to call a relevant medical professional with a single click.
