According to unnamed sources Yahoo And Google are preparing to launch Flipboard, Pulse and Zite alternatives next week. Kara Swisher at AllThingsD has received unverified confirmation.
According to Kara Swisher, Yahoo will launch its new social news app-Livestand, next Wednesday. In a similar report Matt Rosoff of Business Insider said “We know that Yahoo’s Blake Irving is hosting an event for press at the company’s Sunnyvale headquarters next Wednesday morning, and Irving told a blogger back in September that the product would launch in the fourth quarter of 2012, so it certainly seems likely. Yahoo first announced the product back in February.
Google’s own version of Flipboard dubbed-Propeller is also believed to be unveiled next week as well. Business Insider reported last month that Google tried to buy Flipboard but the search giant could not seal the deal. Flipboard refused the offer.
