Socialize Around Images with Pinterest

Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes. Pinterest enables you to clip things they like. It emphasize pictures over text, which are more visually appealing and easier to digest.

Visitors browse their friends’ “boards,” which, like bulletin boards, are basically curated collections of photos, usually centered around a topic such as food or clothing. Users make boards by finding pictures they like on the Web. Hitting a button in a bookmark toolbar adds the image. Pinterest users can follow each other’s boards and “re-pin” each other’s postings, or create communal boards.

Pinterest’s goal is to connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting. The team believe that a favorite book, toy, or recipe can reveal a common link between two people. With millions of new pins added every week, Pinterest is connecting people all over the world based on shared tastes and interests.

Hey Thomas, I linked to your post to help Pinterest users understand it more. I let them know how to load the "Pin It" button into the iPad bookmarks. I like the recommended posts you have, I'll be checking some of those out. It's amazing the amount of tools there are. I hadn't heard of any one of those until you mentioned them.
