Facebook Launches Private Messages for Business Pages In Asia

According to several sources including wearesocial.sg, insidefacebook.com and techworld.com, Facebook has rolled out “Private Messages for Pages”, a new feature for pages that allow brands to interact with fans in a more direct and individual manner.

Instead of relying on public wall posts to chat and interact with fans, brands can use Private Messages for Pages to receive complaints, suggestions, and feedback directly.

When a visitor clicks on the Message button on a Page, it brings up a simple dialogue box that allows them to enter a message to be sent directly to the business. Once a visitor has sent a message to the Page, it is added to the visitor’s Messages area, just like a message they’d send to a friend’s personal profile.

In a statement released for insidefacebook.com, Facebook said “We are currently testing a feature that allows people and Pages to communicate privately. We have no further details to share at this time.”
