RockMelt, the free social media web browser has launched Beta 5 just in time for your holidays. RockMelt was built off of Chromium and boasts deep integration with both Facebook and Twitter with its “Edges” which are filled with friends that are online and feeds that you follow complete with update badges.
Beta 5 promises to be faster and easier: staying in touch with friends, getting new updates from your favorite sites, and discovering sweet new content features have been improved.
New features
The omnibox has been completely re-designed. RockMelters now have seven chat conversations each day, up from three conversations six months ago.
A brand New Tab page. Pop open a new tab and you’ll see your friends’ pictures, have quick access to their profiles and even birthday reminders.
RockMelt now has ticker of your friends’ recent Social Reading activity in the top-right corner.
Now, the App Edge supports scrolling so you can add as many apps as you want and still navigate the Edge with ease.
