Kogeto Dot is one of the few iPhone accessories especially designed just for photographers. Most Panoramic photography requires expensive photographic equipment. Kogeto Dot wants to help you shoot 360° panoramic video right from your iPhone.
How Kogeto Dot works
Kogeto’s iCONIC lens works with the iPhone 4 / 4S HD video camera to capture full 360° video — all at once — without stitching frames together. The catadioptric optical system is fully AR-coated for color fidelity in all environments. Dot is a lightweight attachment that doesn’t require batteries or external power. Dot comes with a microfiber pouch that doubles as a lens cloth.
The Kogeto dot snaps on to the iPhone with its special circular mirror device over the front camera. You take pictures with the Kogeto Looker iPhone app. The device feeds light from all directions into the iPhone camera, where Looker processes it into a panoramic video file.
Looker captures panoramic video – all at once. It does not stitch together frames. With Looker, you can watch Dot videos on the iPhone 4 or 4S by swiping your screen to virtually spin around, or switch modes and view them in panoramic widescreen.
You can view the file on your iPhone or on a Web page using Kogeto’s embedded player. Looker also lets you post directly to Facebook or Twitter.
Kogeto also makes panoramic cameras for industrial and surveillance applications.
