Few Entrepreneurs Actually Reach the Top

Entrepreneurship is a full-time job and if start the journey, you can end well, but only a few end really well. Reaching the peak of being an entrepreneur takes lots of courage, determination and hard work, yes hard work. The barriers – including cost of entry –are getting low, (working from home, online, etc.) but reaching the top takes more than just starting a business. There are too many odds but you can and could reach the top

Successful entrepreneurs

Changing the world as we know it

The likes of extraordinary entrepreneurs including Howard Schultz of Starbucks, Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com, Steve Jobs of Apple, Bill Gates of Microsoft, Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook have changed the world as we know. If you happen to read their stories, you will know that it took courage, real determination and perseverance  to reach the top.

Extraordinary minds

Bill Gates said the other day that “I never took a day off in my twenties. Not one.”  And Steve Jobs has also said the past that “I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.”  Howard Schultz‘s advice to young entrepreneurs “Risk more than others think safe. Dream more than others think practical. Expect more than others think possible. Care more than others think wise.”

Stay FOCUSED on your journey

The most important thing for every young entrepreneur is to stay focused on the path you have chosen. Being an entrepreneur is a choice, so make it count and work hard at it . It can be done, others have done it, some have reached top, others are still on their way.You maybe still on your way and that is a good thing. Stay on the path of success, don’t repeat your mistakes but learn from them. You can survive, emerge and succeed in your competitive industry, if you follow the right path.

There are NO guarantees

There are tons of uncertainty on the path to succeed. You have to be the one to plan your own future. There is always a right approach, you need to find it  and apply it to your own circumstances. The most extraordinary minds have succeeded with different strategies and business models. What may have worked for Steve Jobs could not have worked for Bill Gates. The most important thing is to have the end in mind. Where do you see yourself in the next five years or even 10 years. The process of reaching that goal could change along the way, but take small steps towards that goal everyday.

You need the right bus with a SMART team

You definitely have to surround yourself with smart people who understand your business, support your goals, and challenge you in a positive way—from the very beginning of the journey if you can.  Henry Ford said the other day that  “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Never underestimate the power of a strong and committed team with a sense of purpose.

Passion is THE word

Are you obsessed with your business and its success. Nobody can motivate you enough. Passion is a requirement for the job. Your life as an entrepreneur is much like the movie Speed…Stop moving and you will blow up. Get comfortable and you will fail. Stop caring and it’s over.” Maren Kate

GOOD LUCK on your way to the top.
