The Value of Having an Identifiable Logo & Brand

Apple. McDonald’s. Pepsi. Some brand logos are so powerful, they don’t need any words to explain what they are. Establishing an identifiable logo and brand makes it easier for your target demographic to think of you when they wish to purchase your products or services. Great effort goes into establishing brand awareness, but a solid logo design is a first step.

Brand awareness explained

Brand awareness is the ability of your logo and brand to become synonymous in the minds of your customers with the products or services you offer. It is when your business image is easily recognized by the public in such a way that it draws in new customers and keeps previous ones coming back. Think about the most impressionable logos built by major brands and how they’ve impacted your life. You know them by simple colors or shapes. A handful of companies immediately recognizable by their logos include:

  • Coca-Cola
  • Google
  • Nike
  • Red Cross
  • Starbucks
  • Walmart

Logo design is a start

Strategic logo design is a good start on the path to brand awareness, but that’s not all. Companies such as Nike have spent millions of dollars in advertisements, putting its brand and simple, bold logo constantly in the face of consumers. They have also developed a reliable, high-quality product, much like Starbucks. That two-tailed mermaid is synonymous with not-just-your-average cup-o’-jo and quality of life. Google’s services and logo are so synonymous that the brand has become a commonly used verb in the English language.

Your business needs a sound strategy for not only creating a recognizable, relevant logo and brand, but getting it seen by as many people as possible. The services and products you offer also need to be of such iconic quality that your target customers think of you when they’re ready to make a purchase. Achieving this kind of identity is priceless, and it takes consistent, hard work.

What’s your brand worth to you?

The establishment of an identifiable logo and brand begins with a good design and builds off of exposure and quality. The most iconic brands did not become that way overnight. Polish your product or service and get your brand out where your customers can see it. There are a ton of great design companies out there that can help – from large well-known agencies like Landor to smaller boutique shops like Razorfrog Web Design or DIY services like Graphic Springs. Done the right way, your brand could eventually support you merely by its ubiquitous recognition.
