5 Most Effective Internet Marketing Strategies For 2017

In this fast-paced world, marketing experts have to constantly provide new marketing strategies otherwise customers get bored of seeing the same advertisement over and over again. If you are interested in online marketing learn more here about alternative marketing strategies. Here are the five most effective internet marketing strategies for 2017.

1. Cause-related marketing

This marketing strategy describes when a for-profit company teams up with a non-profit organization to start a campaign that is mutually beneficial. The best example of this marketing strategy is when Starbucks teamed up with (RED) to raise $14 million for AIDS research, awareness, and education worldwide.

This strategy is very effective in an age where people are starting to spend money on companies that support their ideology. This strategy is particularly helpful if your company recently had bad publicity.

If your name is in the news for doing something positive in the community, people will remember and choose to spend their money with that company.

2. Direct selling

The strategy is when a business sells an item directly to a consumer. Your computer’s search history is often sold to advertising agencies at a very cheap price, so companies advertise the exact items you were just searching. This can feel a little invasive, but it’s also very convenient to have deals pop up on your screen with a product at a lower price than you just saw it five minutes ago.

This marketing strategy is particularly effective with small children. Companies advertise cereal directly to children by using cartoon advertising mascots to get kids attention, and cheap prizes in the box to provide an incentive to buying a specific brand.

3. Paid advertising

All major companies will implement paid advertising campaigns to sell their products. These advertisements are usually short video commercials that play loudly without you clicking on any buttons. These advertisements are broad and attract the largest audience possible.

High traffic websites will advertise banner ads, which are small advertisements that only have the name of the company, or a picture with the company logo. This is a non-intrusive form of advertising that everyone is accustomed to.

4. Email marketing

Email marketing is incredibly effective at bringing in customers. If you type your email while signing up for any website, you are most likely going to get numerous emails from that company. These emails typically contain discounts or new merchandise that has just arrived. If a customer does not want to be part of your email chain, then they can unsubscribe to the emails.

5. Discounts

Discounts are the oldest trick in the book to unload some back stocked merchandise and draw new customers to your merchandise. Some companies offer daily deals to keep their customers always coming back. Audible is a learn company that offers daily specials. Each day they pick a different audiobook to sell for less that four dollars. The hunt for a good deal can be so addicting for many customers that they will check for discounts.
