For your team to plan efficiently, there must be a specific goal or goals to plan towards. These goals must be SMART goals. This means that they must be specific, measurable, assignable, relevant and time-bound. Planning should also be used in the day to day activities of the team by ensuring that reasonable to-do lists are set and each task is met in the time allocated to it. They can use a schedule maker to create their own time-boxed schedule for the week.

Time management is a key aspect of planning. Efficiently managing their time will help your team to be more productive.

Work-life balance

Work-Life balance isn’t just about the team getting enough vacation days or getting more sleep. Ensuring that the workspace is conducive and the work culture not only allows but promotes a healthy lifestyle, is a great way of incorporating a more sustainable Work-Life balance. These will help keep your team members the most productive that they can be.

Stress management

Stress is a common problem that stems from the consistent pressures of work. It is important for a healthy team to be mindful of stress and find individual ways to deal with it. Healthcare providers suggest that commute times can be used for managing stress and time by meditating, learning a new language, reading a book, wearing comfortable shoes and turning off your phone.

Managing emotions

Emotions are natural and they are a part of being human. Emotions affect our state of mind and our ability to make clear decisions. As a team, members must manage their own emotions and that of the other members. To handle one’s own emotions, it is important to begin by removing oneself from an emotional situation and reflect inwards. Try to find the cause of the emotion and deal with it directly.

To deal with anger, for example, take deep breaths, exercise, stay present, and take ownership of your emotions. When trying to manage the emotions of others, it is important to listen to understand what the person is trying to communicate. You should say exactly what you mean and understand that people are different and might have different views from you.

Eating healthy

Maintaining a healthy diet can be difficult for people who work a lot. The foods we eat affect the way we function physically and mentally. Eating the right foods has been proven to increase productivity levels.

Having a selection of healthy meal choices in the office can serve as a reminder for the team to eat healthy food. Having fruits as a snack option in the break room or incorporating healthier foods to lunch selection is a good way to keep your team on a good diet.

Exercise

Keeping the body active is very important because exercise improves the body’s overall performance and elevates mood. For people who are not able to make time to go to the gym, having meetings while walking or standing at their desk are good ways to slot in physical activity into a normal working schedule.
