How to Make Your Customers Feel at Ease in Your Premises

Customer relations are key to any business no matter what size or how long you’ve been trading the impression that you give to customers can make or break in how well you do. One thing that gives a customer an impression of how professional you are and how you run things is what they experience when they visit your premises. Here we are going to go through some of the ley things to be aware of

Offer Complimentary Tea & Coffee

Offering visitors to your premises complimentary hot drinks such as teas and coffee can be a small gesture, however, it is one that will make them feel that you are considerate of them making the trip to come see you. You can have a member of staff serve them or even get a nice office coffee machine that everyone can use, staff and visitors alike.

If You Make Appointments, Keep Them

This should be obvious but it’s surprising how many small business owners are over-worked and too busy to keep on schedule and often are either late for or miss appointments even though they are at their own premises. This is terrible for your reputation and is one thing that you should avoid, make sure to aim to be early as this way if you are late you will simply be on time.

Well Designed Waiting Rooms

If you have a room or waiting area then ensure it’s a nice place for people to wait. There are various ways of improving your waiting room design and this involves everything from furniture choice and placement to having methods of informing customers of delays. Choose nice neutral and calming colours to place people at ease while they are waiting and have a good choice of reading materials in case of a delay or wait.

Have Comfortable Office Furniture

If you are having people in your actual office for meetings then be sure to consider what type of office furniture you should have. Consider chairs that are inviting and comfortable and also not too large and cumbersome, this way it is possible to put the chairs away to the side when you don’t have visitors. They should fit in with the theme and décor of the entire room and even consider having a theme for the whole building.

Give Them A Tour When They First Visit

If you have premises where a lot is going on, even manufacture or design things then it may be of interest to your customers to see how you do things. Even if you are just a wholesaler or retailer then it’s possible to showcase what different products you stock and especially if you have new ones or think there are alternative products to the ones that they usually buy that would be of interest to them. So for these reasons, it would be beneficial to give your customers a full and explanatory guided tour of the whole premises when they first visit you.
