3 Critical Components of Launching a Successful Startup

Getting a new business off the ground can be a daunting prospect. Make no mistake about it. There is much to do and organize and if you aren’t careful, you could waste more time, money and resources than necessary. While it’s important to surround yourself with key people and to find the perfect location from which to operate, everything can easily fall into place if you focus on the three most important and critical components of launching a successful startup. Everything you do will almost always fall within one of these main categories.

1. Write a Solid Business Plan

The very first thing you must do when launching a successful startup is to write a solid business plan. Not only will this keep everything in order so that you know what needs doing and when, but it will also be a necessary step in procuring the funding you are almost assuredly lacking. From determining how you want to tailor your business to finding top talent, and everything in between, it all starts with a roadmap and that would be your business plan. 

2. Procure Adequate Funding and/or Financing

Referring to the business plan mentioned above, you will find that it is much easier to garner the interest of lenders and financiers if you have a rock-solid plan laid out for them. This will show how you intend to organize and operate your business as well as how you intend to make a profit. If you want to raise the capital to launch your startup, you will most definitely need to show how you intend to repay loans and investments in your company. 

Always seek more capital than you ‘think’ you’ll need. You never know when a minor glitch could turn into a major obstacle if you don’t have the necessary funding to circumvent a problem. Bear in mind that it may take a couple years before you actually start seeing a profit, so plan for that early on with adequate funding and financing.

3. Hit the Ground Running with Marketing

This is something many startups fail to recognize as critical to their success, especially when funding is tight. However, marketing is the most effective way to get your name out there so that your audience knows you are in business. Take, for example, a startup being launched in a major market like Miami.

Perhaps you are starting a club on South Beach or a café in the Grove. Marketing is how you introduce yourself to the world, and one of the best ways to accomplish this is through video production.
