If you’re a business owner and have a new product you wish to sell, one of the most challenging decisions to make is the type of packaging you want to use. There are thousands of options when it comes to finding the right packaging boxes, but if choosing the right one seems complicated, think again. Once you learn a few helpful tips that cut back on the amount of time you’ll spend making this decision, everything else will be much easier for you. Below are a few of those tips.

1. Consider the Size and Shape of the Box

When a customer sees your product in the store, the size and shape of the box it’s in can determine whether or not they’re going to pick it up and take a better look at it. The product itself might be great, but if the size, shape, and the brand packaging design doesn’t lure the customers in, chances are they won’t go any further. One more thing regarding the size of the package – customers are now smarter and more eco-conscious than ever before, so you should always make sure your small products don’t come in huge packages. This is a turn-off for many consumers.

2. Consider What the Packaging Is Made of

Packaging boxes come in dozens of material types, and this decision will most likely be made based on the type of product you’re selling, the weight, and even whether it is going to be sold locally or internationally. Most businesses use cardboard for packaged food products, glass for drinks and similar items, tins made out of metal for canned goods, and different types of plastic for the remaining items. This is an important decision to make, and you’ll also want to make sure the packaging you choose protects the product so it doesn’t break while it’s being transported.

3. Consider the Aesthetic Appeal of the Package

Okay, this is the big one. When a prospective customer looks at your product, what will they think? You need a package that catches their attention and causes them to pick up the box to explore it further, even if they’re just doing so because they like the look of the box. When your product is sitting on the shelf, it needs something to make it stand out among the other boxes nearby, and if you work with an expert, you can easily come up with a great-looking package that will have your customers wanting more.

 

4. Consider How Easy the Package Is to Manoeuvre

When you’re deciding on the right package, you should keep in mind that customers need to consider opening the package an easy thing to do. If you choose packaging that is hard to get open, customers will be angry. After all, opening a package and getting to a product that you’re anxious to start using should be fast and simple, not difficult and frustrating. Choosing packaging boxes that are easy to open but which still protect the product isn’t as difficult as you might think, but it’s an important decision just the same.
