5 Ways To Gift Employees For Good Performance

When employees have worked so hard for an organization, they also like to feel rewarded and appreciated for all of their efforts. Think about this, remember how you felt the last time you were rewarded for a job well done? It encourages you to do more than is required of you. Your employees will naturally feel the same way as they, would like to feel like you’ve seen their efforts and you appreciate every single bit of hard work that they give to your organization.

Thankfully, there are many ways to gift your employees for their good performance. From simple to extravagant measures, this article breaks it down for you.

1. Handwritten Thank You Note

If you’re short on budget, yet, you really wish to thank your employees, this first example comes in totally free but will be greatly appreciated! How often is it that employees can receive a thank you note that’s handwritten by their boss?

It’s a very simple but meaningful way to show your employees that you care about them and that you’re willing to put in some time to write to them.

2. Lunch Or Dinner With The Boss

If you’re the boss, you can treat employees that have been performing well to lunch or dinner. Almost everyone appreciates dining with their boss as it gives them that one-on-one time on a professional basis, but also a little bit more personal. It’s like getting to know more about each other and seeing that your boss is, in fact, also a human being that also cares about the employees.

More importantly, who knows, that the lunch or dinner with you might only be one of the very few instances in a year that your employee will actually get to dine in a nice restaurant. If steak on weekends is a norm for you, that might not always be the case for your employees.

3. Office Party

An office party invites your employees to a break from their daily tasks. It makes them feel relaxed as they’re no longer trying to get something done. Rather, they’re with their co-office workers ready to have a good time. It’s a well-deserved break for your employees that makes them happy. Like a domino effect, when they’re happy, they’re also more inclined towards enjoying their work the days after.

Hosting an office party for your employees has many other advantages, such as the following:

  • It makes them more productive as their mind gets more refreshed.
  • It helps employees relax.
  • It improves office camaraderie as your employees will get to know more about each other.

To ensure that your office party is a success, be sure that you plan it well. You can even take it one step further by making it a mini holiday. For instance, you can book a private ship charter for everyone to go through a day cruise, which can be considered as a company outing.

4. Shopping Spree

Since everyone loves a good shopping spree, your employees will love it, too, especially since they don’t have to pay for a single thing.

You can vary the shopping spree, according to the preference of your employees. For example, there might be those that would prefer a clothing spree so they can buy new clothes for their family and children. Some, however, might be happier with a grocery spree. This can help them stock up on some of their essentials, especially when they may have a party coming up or if they’re finding it hard to live paycheck-to-paycheck.

5. Cash Gifts

Cash gifts are also a great way to reward your employees because it gives them the freedom to decide on what they’re going to use it for.

Remember that not all of your employees will have the same needs. By giving cash gifts, you’re also saving yourself the hassle of individually selecting numerous gifts, particularly when you don’t have the time for it.

Conclusion

There are different ways to give your employees great rewards. Many employees are paid well, and it’s up to you to motivate them. In addition to offering great employee rewards, you have to treat your employees well, too. They’ll appreciate a nice paycheck and the feeling that they’re valued by their employer.

These examples above are only a few but it’s a good start for you to have valuable insights on how and what to reward your employees with. Just remember that you’ve got to consider the preferences of your employees. Give them a chance to choose from options you’ll present if you can. That way, you’re guaranteed that these employees are receiving something that they like.
