How to Improve Your Conversion Rate

Your website’s conversion rate should be one of the most important things you think about in your day to day managing of your site. You should constantly be striving for ways to make your conversion rate better than it was the previous month, week, and even day. If you are constantly focused on conversion, you will be better equipped to respond to drops in your conversion rates and fix problems before they develop into big ones. Conversion rate optimization is essential if you want to increase your profitability and growth. Here are some essential practices you need to be doing:

Testing

Conversion Rate Optimisation companies specialize in analytics and testing, and this is for good reason. You need to know what is working on your website and what isn’t. The skill comes from interpreting tests in a way that gets you the best results possible. A great test that you should be acquainted with is A/B testing, which is a form of live testing. It involves trying two or more different features on your site and testing them with your audiences at the same time. You then go with the feature that leads to the highest conversion rates. A/B testing is great for deciding upon layouts, headlines, and call to actions, as well as font and text size, etc.

Navigation

The navigation on your website should be crystal clear. Looking at its layout frequently to try and improve it is vital – you need to look at the site’s navigation from a new user’s perspective. If your content is effective, it should draw users into your site by getting views. With every page you have, make sure that if a new user landed on that page, they would be able to get a clear idea of what you are about and where they should go next. Make sure that it is possible for somebody that has gone deep into your site to find their way back easily.

CTAs

Call to Action links, buttons, and forms need to be compelling, and there is a lot you are able to test with A/B testing. How do you know which color works best? Do tests! Everything from the color to the location of your buttons should be tested properly.

Lead Forms

Many people think that conversions are sales-based, but they’re not. Converting a customer just means getting them into your funnel and guiding them down to the next stage. Lead forms are a great way to do this – don’t push for a sale too hard, make them easy and valuable. If you’re getting great traffic to your content, make sure you are leveraging this by capturing leads. Offer something in return, whether it’s free content or coupons or something more creative.

Page Load times

If you have great content on your site, make sure you’re not weighed down by slow page loading times. Speed is really important for Google. If you take too long to load pictures, any visitors to your site will get a grating sense of annoyance that gets worse the more they try to interact with your website. Make sure you consistently check your bounce rate!
