How to Hit the Ground Running With a New Business

As a new business, you will want to do everything that you can to hit the ground running. Launching a startup is always a risk and the early days will define the company and those that hit the ground running usually go on to find long-term success. So, what steps can you take to create early success and avoid folding? There is no recipe for success, but there are a few steps that you can take that will put you in a good position and hopefully enable you to make a splash from day one.

Have a clear USP

It is hard to attract people to your business from the start if you are not bringing anything new to the table. This is why you need to have a clear USP that will attract people away from the competition and to your business – this is particularly true in competitive industries as when there is not much to choose between, a consumer will usually go with the more established brand.

SMS marketing

Nowadays, people are glued to their smartphones throughout the day so this is the perfect place to reach your target customer. SMS marketing with Tatango enables you to advertise to your target customer no matter where they are, which is an incredibly effective way to engage them, especially if the messages are targeted, useful and have impact.

Start advertising early

There is no point waiting until you launch to start advertising your new business and starting early is smart because it gives you longer to build brand awareness, communicate what your USP is and build excitement about your brand. Come day one, you should have people waiting for your business to launch so that you are able to hit the ground running and already have started to build a reputation.

Raise awareness through social media

Following this, social media is perfect for raising awareness about your startup prior to launching. This is how you increase brand awareness, engage directly with your target customer and show your expertise through content creation and responding to comments. This even enables you to build relationships before you have even started which will certainly help you to attract new customers

Deals and promotions

It may seem obvious, but deals and promotions are simply one of the best ways to bring people in when getting started. Ultimately, people love to take advantage of a good deal or promotion and they can be useful for luring people away from the competition – you then need to win them over with a high-quality product/service and enjoyable customer experience. Running these obviously comes at a cost, but hopefully it will deliver returns over the long-term by acquiring and retaining customers.

Combine these strategies and you should be able to hit the ground running with your new business. Launching is a defining moment in your company’s history and you will be desperate to find some early success, so putting the work in beforehand and knowing the best strategies is key.
