Enhancement of the Accessibility for Individual Taxpayers

Before the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the AMT on an individual basis often made it impossible for individual taxpayers to take advantage of the credit. The exemptions from the AMT available to individual taxpayers are currently being increased. Consequently, individual taxpayers are likely to make more use of the research and development tax credits that are passed through to them from their respective enterprises.
