TIG Welding (Tungsten Inert Gas)

TIG welding is similar to MIG in that it also uses a nonconsumable electrode to create welds between two pieces of metal. However, TIG welding is more precise than MIG because the arc must be manually controlled by the welder throughout the entire process—it cannot be automated like MIG can.

This makes TIG welding slower but much more accurate than MIG, making it ideal for intricate designs or detailed work on small parts or components. It also produces less spatter than MIG welding and can be used on thin metals such as aluminum and magnesium alloys without any distortion or warping.

Oxy-Acetylene Welding

Oxy-acetylene welding is one of the oldest forms of welding still in use today. This type of welding requires two separate flames – one from an oxygen tank and one from an acetylene tank – which are then combined into a single flame using special tips attached to each torch head.

Oxy-acetylene welds are very strong but can be difficult to control due to their extreme heat levels; they also require more post-weld clean-up than other types of welding do due to their high levels of slag production during the process itself. Because this type of welding does not rely on electricity like MIG or TIG does, however, it can be used outdoors even if there are no power sources nearby – making it perfect for remote areas where other types may not be feasible options.
