Even with effective marketing, you would be surprised that only a few first-time customers will make repeat visits. Whether you’re operating a restaurant or a retail clothing store, the  appearance of your business is vital. If you’re considering revamping the exterior and interior layout and design of your store, consider some of these essential tips:

Identifying your closest rivals is crucial to running your business, as you need to compete for more foot traffic. With this in mind, your market research should also focus on how well your competitors decorate and design their establishments. Aside from knowing their strategic location, you should assess the exterior elements that catch people’s attention. 

Determine the size of their signage and the color scheme being used. It’s also important to know if the interior space allows for free-flowing movement among staff and customers. Take note of other features you think make a competitor’s space effective in keeping customers engaged.

2. Start with Lighting

If you’re selling merchandise, make sure that the interior space provides enough warm light, which is crucial for elevating mood and creating a cozier indoor atmosphere. Ambient lights also work well if you’re selling luxury items. On the other hand, white lights are ideal for electronics and grocery stores. 

Restaurants and cafes also require ample natural light, so make sure you have large enough windows to invite warmth and improve your establishment’s curb appeal. Whichever the case, determining which lights to use for your establishment should depend on your brand identity and the effect you want your audience to feel.

3. Freshen Up the Landscape

Clever store displays and signage aren’t the only factors that bring the right customers closer to your physical store. If they don’t like the surrounding area, then they are less likely to set foot. A poorly maintained parking lot is as much an eyesore as it is an inconvenience for most customers in the state of Georgia.

A well-maintained interior speaks volumes about how much you care for your employees and customers. Visitors will even notice defects, such as cracked tiles and water damage in the ceiling. Ignoring these issues diminishes your brand’s reputation, so you will have to deal with these repairs right away before they get worse and become more noticeable.
