Twilio Powers Parts of The Back-end For Several Group Texting Apps

By -

Twilio offers developers a powerful API for phone services to make and receive phone calls, and send and receive text messages. Twilio provides a cloud API for voice and SMS communications that leverages existing web development skills, resources and infrastructure.

Build sales automation systems, order inquiry lines, CRM solutions, interactive SMS apps, call routing apps, phone trees, appointment reminders, custom voicemail apps, and a whole lot more. Twilio powers parts of the back-end for several group texting/chat apps, including GroupMe, Beluga, Fast Society, and others.

Twilio’s SMS functionality is meant to make previously complex tasks as simple as possible. If you want to send a SMS message to a user from your web app, you can do that using a single line of code. One key aspect of the new service is that it lets you use the same phone number for Twilio’s phone services and SMS messages (it also means that you can use SMS with any existing Twilio numbers you may have).
