HealthBox, a startup incubator and accelerator program focused on health IT startups has opened applications for health startups. HealthBox is looking for healthcare technology and technology-enabled services startups that are led by energetic, innovative, passionate founders. Example areas of focus include health IT, informatics, administration and back office, health programs and consumer driven solutions, to name just a few. Competitive applicants will bring ideas and solutions that address specific challenges in the healthcare industry.
Healthbox will launch in January 2012 with an inaugural class of ~10 startups. For three months, these teams will share space and ideas in Chicago, where they will push toward the next stage of development.
Participating companies will gain access to:
- Expert Network – an unrivaled group of industry visionaries, leading investors and established entrepreneurs will provide feedback and expertise across a broad array of healthcare disciplines
- Collaborative Workspace – fellow entrepreneurs and mentors will come together in an environment that stimulates learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
- Topical Forums – business experts will lead engaging discussions on topics relevant to early-stage companies
- Seed Capital – $50,000 per team in exchange for 7% equity and an organized Investor Day for participants to impress investors and raise additional money.
