Facebook has unveiled Facebook Cards in an attempt to bridge the gap between online and offline social networking. Facebook in partnership with UK-based digital printing business Moo.com will make the cards available to all 800 million-plus Facebook members.
Taking pictures from users’ Facebook Timeline information and photography, users will now be able to create 50 personalized business cards for £10/$15. But in a promotion from today Moo is giving away cards to the first 200,000 users, equivalent to 10 million cards.
Facebook spokesperson Jillian Stefanki says “The MOO.COM integration makes it possible for people to take [the Timeline] experience with them offline.”
Each of the Facebook business cards can feature a different photo image on the front and a favourite quote or saying on the back. The aim, says Richard Moross(founder of Moo.com) is to allow Facebook users to have a unique stock of business cards to pair the “right images for the right business or social occasions”.
