Just-Eat was founded in Denmark in 2000 and is based in London.

Just-Eat’s mission is to make consumers’ and restaurants lives easier by enabling hungry surfers to “Order Takeaway. The Smart Way.” At the end of 2010 Just-Eat Group operates in 10 countries, has 13,000+ restaurants online and, every month, over 1.5m takeaway meals are bought through our sites.

There are currently over 12,000 takeaway restaurants signed up to Just-Eat’s site which uses proprietary technology to offer a seamless on-line ordering service. Just-Eat is currently generating over £200m in revenue per year and was recently listed in the TechCrunch Europe Top 100 Index 2010.

In the autumn of 2007 Just-Eat partnered with the Dutch company Hapgids to form Just-Eat.nl.

Just-Eat.co.uk launched in the UK in March 2006 and has rapidly become the UK market leader, growing at an unprecedented rate.

August 2001 Just-Eat merged with FoodZoom, and Just-Eat.dk was a reality. In 2002 the original Just-Eat founders were bought out, and the FoodZoom team led by Jesper Buch took charge of the company, which continued under the Just-Eat name

Just-Eat acquired a majority shareholding in Hungry Zone, India’s leading online food ordering and restaurant table reservation platform and will invest $ 5-10 million over the next three years into this Joint Venture.
