Top 11 Venture Deals Of The Week

  1. Finisar, the developer of fiber optic subsystems,  completed its acquisition of Ignis ASA, a publicly held Norwegian company. Ignis was listed on the Osla Stock Exchange AS IGNIS.
  2. BackType, a developer of Twitter analytics tools, was acquired by Twitter. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.
  3. Tapjoy, which provides monetization and advertising tools for mobile app developers,  raised $30M .The round was led by JP Morgan.
  4. Callidus Software, the developer of sales team management software,  acquired iCentera, a developer of sales enablement software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.
  5. MOBIbucks, a developer of cardless, mobile payment systems which has its research and development operations in Silicon Valley, secured $5M in a Series A funding.
  6. Facebook  powered its video chat and calling service, in a deal with Skype. Facebook and Skype did not discuss financial terms of the deal.
  7. ParAccel, a developer of data warehousing and analytics software,  scored a new funding round. The round was led by Amazon.com.
  8. JDSU  acquired the critical product design, patents, and assets for a concentrated photovoltaic solar product line from QuantaSol, a CPV provider in the UK. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.
  9. Virtustream, a provider of cloud infrastructure services with operations in San Francisco, raised $10M in a Series B funding round. The firm said the funding came from Intel Capital, Columbia Capital, Noro-Moseley Partners, and TDFunds.
  10. eBay  agreed to acquire mobile billing and payments firm Zong, which is based in Menlo Park. eBay said it would pay approximately $240M in cash for Zong.
  11. Aeroprise, a developer of IT management software, was acquired by BMC Software, BMC said Thursday. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.
