Pebble, Kickstarter project that is supported by close to 70,000 people is a simple but an elegant watch that syncs with your smart phone. Current functions includes telling the time, controlling the music you’re playing and Caller ID.

Pebble Watch

The watch is customizable, with elegant downloadable watchfaces and online connected apps. Pebble connects to your iPhone or Android using bluetooth and alerts you with a silent vibration to incoming calls, emails and messages. Pebble paires with your smartphone in a couple of minutes once the app is downloaded. All software updates are wirelessly transmitted to your Pebble.

Cyclists can use Pebble as a bike computer, accessing the GPS on your smartphone to display speed, distance and pace data. Runners get a similar set of data displayed on their wrist. Use the music control app to play, pause or skip tracks on your phone with the touch of a button.

Pebble currently retails for $150 in different colors including Arctic white, Cherry red, Orange and Grey.

Popular notifications are:

  • Incoming Caller ID
  • Email (Gmail or any IMAP email account)
  • SMS on both Android and iPhones
  • iMessage (iOS only)
  • Calendar Alerts
  • Facebook Messages
  • Twitter
  • Weather Alerts
  • Silent vibrating alarm and timer

The company hasĀ  successfully raised more than $10 million on crowdfunding site, Kickstarter. It’s the most funded Kickstarter project of all time.

Pebble is compatible with your iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 or any iPod Touch with iOS 5 or iOS 6. Android devices running OS 2.3 and up are also computable but works best with Android 4.0. Pebble does not work with your Blackberry, Windows Phone 7, or Palm phones.
