Best Practices For Startup Bloggers Before Going Public

One of the best sources of income online is by having a blog. You can monetise this by showing ads or affiliate links or posting advertorials. However, all these benefits do not happen in an instant.

You cannot expect your blog to be successful in just a few days or weeks. The same with other businesses, for this blog to succeed, it is important to exert your greatest effort and hard work. Also, it is important to do the necessary preparations before your launch.

Here are some best practices to observe before you make your blog available in public considering that you’ve already chosen your niche.

Find an effective and easy to remember domain name

The domain name of your blog plays a big role in achieving success. It is best to choose a domain name that is clever yet easy to remember and most important of all, easy to spell.

You should come up with lists of names and conduct a domain check to see which one is available. If you are mixing terms to create a unique word for your domain, then be sure to check its meaning to ensure that you are not using a word with a bad connotation.

Don’t forget keyword research

Next, it is best to come up with important keywords to target so be sure to do keyword research. You should study keywords related to your niche that are most searched by online users.

However, you should not only focus on the top keyword because the tendency is that competition is too tough. While doing your best to work on the top keyword, you should also aim for related keywords and long-tail keywords that have lesser competition since ranking for those keywords gives you a better shot.

Study your competition

Speaking of competition, it is a good practice to check out your competition and see how their website looks like – what types of content they publish, what promotions they do and also their audience. By studying your competitors, you will be able to improve your own blog or website.

Prepare multiple contents

Before you go public, make sure that you have multiple contents that are good to post for at least the next two months. It is important that your blog is updated regularly especially when you are just starting. You want visitors to come back to your site regularly.

Create support email

Lastly, be sure to have a support email wherein people can contact you or send their queries or suggestions. Make sure to have a reliable Contact Us page wherein contact details including email address, mobile number, office address or even official social media accounts are listed. This makes you look reliable and professional.

Doing those things will prepare you for the launch of your blog or website. Just like when launching a business, it is important to make the necessary preparations and to find the right timing.

You do not want people to see your site without content or anything so before you make it available for the public, be sure that you have prepared everything already. The first impression is very important online so try your best to catch the attention of your target audience.
