Chale Watches Launches African Inspired Eco Watch Collection on Kickstarter

Chale Watches has launched the first watch brand dedicated to African culture.

The Tribesman watch collection launched on Kickstarter is an African inspired luxury timepiece with a sustainable approach.

The timepiece is powered by a solar powered movement that is charged by being exposed to natural and artificial light. The total lifespan of the battery is up to 20 years. The team also use sustainable materials in the watch-making process.

The watch features Pinatex for the packaging and the fabrication of the straps.

Their vision is to create something that represents Africa’s colorful cultures and Scandinavian minimalism, and to build bridges between cultures.

The new collection has been featured in notable publications including Essence Magazine, Chocolate Magazine, and several music videos.

Chale watches was founded in 2017 by Theresa Djokoto. The line was designed by Joshua Muthure Muturi.
