Brand Marketing During Coronavirus: What You Need to Know

There is no doubt that coronavirus 2020 has been difficult. It has been difficult for most people I know, and being confined most of the time doesn’t help with the mood either. But this is not the time to give up on your company!

Wars are won through several battles, not overnight, and as a wise businessman said once “the world is yours, but you need to earn it”. This means that you will have to fight for what is yours and, frankly, nothing that is really worthy comes easily.

So, roll up your sleeves and get to work, because it is time for you to learn what marketing companies are doing to successfully develop brand marketing campaigns during this coronavirus pandemic.

1. Mindset

First of all, you need to understand that you are your own worst obstacle. It is not the quarantine, it is not the loss of jobs, it is not the economic slowdown; it is you – the one who is not doing everything in your power to turn this crisis to your favor, the one with the problem.

So, you need to change your mindset and tell yourself that you are better than any crisis, that you will find a way not only to survive, but to make it the greatest achievement of your life. Think about it as winning an award.

2. Focus

Once you have the right mindset, focus on what you need to do to achieve your branding objectives. Do you need people to recognise your brand? Do you want to get ahead of your closest competitor? Do you want to be recognised as a different type of brand? Whatever the objective or objectives, you need to focus your efforts.

It sounds great when a company tells you that they can do several things for your brand at the same time, but you need to understand that this is not something where you pick stuff from a menu and pay for it to make it happen. You are dealing with people and if you confuse them enough, they will most likely drop your brand all together rather than dealing with a tornado of confusing messages. So, be clear on what you need right now and focus your efforts.

Far but close

Yes, I know, this sounds confusing, but we have been dealing with being far from each other for a long time now. Even if your best option is to turn your efforts completely online, try to find ways of making it personal, to give that little push that will make your customer feel special and valued by the brand.

It doesn’t have to be anything particularly expensive, but it should be something that feels special and personalised. Depending on your type of product, you can throw in something extra as an incentive, such as cookies or small skincare sample; candies or a digital gift; even a beautiful and personalised thank you note could make a difference.

You will need to find the best option for your own brand, but remember that we are all craving that feeling of belonging and connection. Use it in your favor.

There are many things that you can do to stand out as a brand during this coronavirus pandemic, and these are just a few that I consider which most business owners who have been struggling during this crisis are having problems with.

If you think that you could benefit from some help, consider contacting the top professional marketing companies for an expert assessment of your particular needs.
