Google said on Monday that it has updated its Google Docs portion of Google Apps to improve the way that documents are displayed and previewed.
The updates will be rolled out to users over the next couple of days, Google said in a blog post authored by Vijay Bangaru, a product manager for Google.
# The idea behind the revamp is to more easily organize files
# Priority sorting will put high-priority files at the top of a user’s list, based on a “number of signals
# Users can also access a new view, dubbed “Home,” that will display the most frequently-accessed content, with the option to either add or subtract documents from this view
# Google has also added a preview function for the right-hand pane, so that you can see a preview thumbnail, sharing settings and more at a glance, even view a video
# Documents can now be selected via the “Shift” or “CTRL” keys on Windows PCs, or the “Cmd” key on Macs
# New-Collections- A file can live in multiple collections, just like with Gmail labels
